Our April 8th event has arrived! It's time for Morro Bay to celebrate generations! If you have any last-minute questions, please reach out to mbcelebratesgenerations at gmail.com or give Bay Theatre a call at (805) 772-2444.

Silent Auction - All participating groups will be auctioning an amazing item of their choice, the proceeds of which will 100% benefit the donating organization. Check out the current list of items in the Silent Auction Items tab of the event website, and click on each item for more details.

Prizes - In addition to the eleven nonprofit organizations contributing to MB Celebrates Generations, several local businesses have stepped in to offer prizes for a handful of lucky event goers. We'd like to thank High Tide, Gilligan's Sandwich Shop, Beads by the Bay, Shine Cafe, Buttercup Bakery & Cafe, By the Sea Productions, and Bay Theatre for their generosity and local support.

Food/Drink - In addition to the Bay Theatre's standard concession offerings during film hours, three nearby businesses have offered to add to the night's festivities. Distassio's Restaurant (1 block uphill from the Bay Theatre) has offered to open an hour early at 3pm for anyone wishing to grab an early dinner before the show. Personally, I love their butternut squash ravioli, while my parents typically rotate between their lasagna and shrimp scampi. Additionally, the new Scout Coffee (1 block downhill from the Bay Theatre) will be offering a special afternoon bake-off featuring scout cookies, jam bars, lemon pistachio shortbreads, and baker's choice croissants to pair with their tasty range of hot, cold, caffeinated, and decaf drink options. Last but not least, Buttercup Bakery & Cafe (next door to theatre) will be hosting a late afternoon happy hour featuring tasty food and coffee drink options on their outdoor patio.

Parking - Folks within walking distance are encouraged to take a Monday stroll to the theatre, while everyone else should budget a few minutes to find street parking nearby. Typically, MB Boulevard fills up pretty quickly w/in a block of the theatre, so try side streets or trusty Harbor Street in a pinch. Better yet, arrive early and enjoy a meal downtown! (see below)

Tickets - All physical tickets have been sold and distributed to participating groups (hooray). Note that no tickets will be available on the day of the event, and no will-call pickup will be available, as Bay Theatre is doing their best to help us out with concessions staffing, film operating, and ticket tearing only. If your group has any unsold tickets you wish to sell, please bring them to Bay Theatre at 4:45pm the night of the show, and we will do our best to sell them to last-minute walkups (no guarantees).

Event Seating - Doors to the Bay Theatre are scheduled to open at 4:45pm, and the film will begin at 5:15pm. Physical tickets are required for entry, and there are no assigned seats (other than the theatre's standard ADA seating, which is not assigned). Because the theatre will be at or near capacity, please do not leave empty seats between groups but instead get friendly, say hi to the stranger next to you, and scooch together. We will be asking groups to shift over a seat if we notice gaps forming, so please beat us to the punch :)

Film - It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World is a really fun watch, but it isn't short. Make sure to use the restroom beforehand. That said, it's a pretty easy film to follow, so a potty break isn't going to be catastrophic to your viewing experience by any means. As a reminder, we expect to start promptly at 5:15pm (and may have a few fun gimmicks up our sleeve that you won't want to miss).

Thanks again to all event goers and contributors. If you have last-minute questions, please reach out to mbcelebratesgenerations at gmail.com or give Bay Theatre a call at (805) 772-2444.
